The route out of Uxbridge
We leave Uxbridge via the M40 and M25, cross from Dover or Folkestone, and drive down through France — typically the A26 and A6 toward the Alps.
From there it’s the Mont Blanc or Fréjus tunnel, or the route round via Switzerland, into northern Italy. The A4 runs east to Milan and the lakes; the A1 Autostrada del Sole heads south through Bologna and Florence toward Rome. It’s a long drive, planned in measured legs with the delivery day fixed at the far end.
